What I'm proposing is not exactly 'irreversible exile to the box',
and also I think a body is still required, either synthetic or
regrown (but nothing unrealistic). Therefore I don't see gradual
replacement as to be so unconventional as to provoke backlashes.
Anyway I think backlash is superstition. We have enough real
problems to solve than to worry that...
I will check out the Robosapiens video and Kurzweil's vision
when I have time. Right now it appears to me gradual
replacement will be the mainstream. Maybe what we need
is a vision that includes interfacing with a synthetic/regrown
body.
