Such a person could use money to (for example)
a) help ensure that once interest in the project which uploaded
him has waned, he won't be unplugged (just because he no longer
needs food doesn't mean he no longer needs energy)
b) gain access to resources - for example, entertainment or
educational materials)
c) lobby for uploaded peoples' rights
d) help upload others
