Hi Siv =)
The school idea sounds good. I'd like to be the first
student to enroll. But I hate the unidirectional info
transfer known as teaching. It should better be like
workshops where everyone work to solve real problems.
Also we should always keep MU in mind so the institute
will not be exactly like other schools.
Another caveat, remember that uploading is afterall
a ONE-TIME event. We implement the technology and then
we'll be busy exploring the post-upload world. Also
remember *urgency*. When a thing is urgent we will
not be able to do it perfectly. I think what we really
need is really just a quick fix.

[Randal: Sorry that I criticized your thesis without
trying to understand it thoroughly. I apologize.
Jesse: You may be good at business, but your knowledge
of some markets are limited. Neurosci Cliff Notes are
all over the place. Neurotransplantation is already
a viable experimental paradigm - neurons have been
transplanted to the VTA (a deep brain structure) to
cure Parkinson, for example. Whereas neuroprosthetics
is a $10s-of-billion industry.
Thomas: Sorry about my remarks which were not very
polite. I'm too busy to reply to every post in here.
You may post all you want, though.]
