Is there some kind of problem with promoting cryogenics? Try googling
for jobs or training in cryonics and see how far you get...but if you go
in through physics you can get all the way. Currently it's the _only_
way in. I did a radio show about this a couple weeks ago explaining why
you have to go through a branch of physics to get into cryobiology
-where were you guys? : )
There is a vast ravine between not knowing the difference in one field
and another, and promoting both. I'm grateful for this response though
because it points out the ways things can be misunderstood, and I'm
already well aware I'm not all that good at explaining things. If
anybody wants to do a rewrite on my intro, that's great.
Kinda confusing on the 'focus' thing, I mean, should someone tell the
singularity about focus, because currently it seems to be attempting to
change everything under the sun...possibly a jolly good spanking or at
least a bit of discipline might get it into line. : )
Another rogue must be medicine, of course -why don't we just try and
cure _one_ thing? Tell those doctors to get a focus, will you? It
doesn't really work like that, does it?
If you want to attack a problem, it has to happen on many levels.
Otherwise you guys would be uploaded by now. You can break anything down
into 'problemettes', and as long as you've got enough staff and
resources, you can work away. We have enough staff and resources, and
we're working away. We're already achieving quite a lot, which would
imply that it's possible (Far be it from me, a mere researcher, to
ignore hard evidence). We're doing good stuff. If you want to join in,
do. If you don't, don't. It's not, like, compulsory or anything. Take it
easy...because incidentally, the _last_ thing Tech-Aid wants is for
anybody to take it seriously, so please don't. We are violently
anti-pompous. We are here to have fun and learn and be useful at the
same time.
The thing that surprised me most is nobody thought, 'hey, why doesn't
MURG apply for a research grant?'
...wake up, Neo...
Best,
AR
