Right! I thought MURG was a research group focusing on mind uploading. 
That's what comes of not having time to grasp all the details. I live in 
a wormhole of busy-ness and things go flying past...apologies.

There is nothing as far as I know to stop a lone researcher, or group of 
researchers, from applying for a grant from Tech-Aid. Applications are 
considered and voted on by members (whose money it is). Members are not 
concerned about your organisational status, they're concerned that you 
get funding to research mind uploading. Or that somebody does. Do you 
know any other groups doing uploading research?
