as I know nothing of this, I accept that it's true.. I
would like to know where some of the hand-waving in
"Nanosystems" is though.. I know that some people have
rather high expecations of nanotech, but I try to keep
a reasonable view of the things they'll be able to
do..

you have to prove it both ways, not just brain affects
mind..
one consideration would be qualia.. why do you
experience red as that particular sensation as opposed
to blue? why does middle-C sound the way it does? or
better, why does the interval of a fifth sound that
way? I'd list more, but you surely got the picture
before I started drawing it

quite right.. well, I remain a critic of uploading..
to continue believing in something without questioning
it doesn't seem save to me
frankly, until I'm uploaded into a computer myself
I'll still likely have lingering doubts.. and even
after that I may wonder if I'm still functioning in a
way the bio-me would be happy with :)
