[MURG] Apology for multiple messages

Hi All,

First, my apologies to all list members for receiving multiple copies of
messages. This must have been especially annoying for those of you in
other time zones who saw the problem happening while I was sleeping. I
woke to 1500 MURG messages (I receive additional messages for bounces and
undeliverables - so my number is quite a bit higher than the one Ed
quoted).

First I deactivated sendmail to get things under control. Then I
reactivated sendmail after removing the cron job that periodically sends
messages in the Mailman queue to the MURG list. That resulted in normal
email operations (but without MURG). So, that means the DNS problems
finally look like they've been worked out: PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE
HAVING TROUBLE REACHING minduploading.org.

Finally, I discovered that both sendmail and Mailman keep queues from
which they attempt to resend messages when there are problems. Those two
were feeding each other in a loop. I empied both and restarted the cron
jobs for Mailman. So far it looks as if things are back to normal.

My apologies once more for the inconvenience and please let me know if you
are still experiencing problems!
