Hi All,

The minduploading.org website and MURG mailing list are back in action
after the server upgrade. While it took longer than expected (due to
Mailman package configuration bugs with Gentoo emerge), I hope that this
was the last time that a major server upgrade was necessary on the
same hardware. Using the Gentoo portage system, future upgrades should
be possible in a regular, incremental and controlled fashion.

This move was necessary, since the previous OS on the server, Debian
Potato (Linux kernel 2.2) was so outdated that an increasing set of
software no longer supported installation on the OS. I am not a proponent
of frequent major server upgrades, so please excuse the inconvenience and
trust me to follow a conservative approach toward maintenance.

There is a chance that my list of subscribers contained some old addresses 
in addition to you current ones. If you receive duplicates or if you 
receive MURG posts at the wrong address (or perhaps you had even 
unsubscribed completely, unthinkable, but possible ;) then please remedy 
the situation by doing one of these things: (1) Go to 
http://minduploading.org/murg.html and fix your account. (2) Send me 
(rak at minduploading.org) an email specifying the problem.
