So far, humanity has been able to absorb any computational resources thrown
at it, and still has been clamoring for more.

We've had gaming driving advances in hardware, with the later twist of
distributed virtual reality worlds and game AI. Now robots are about to
become a commodity, with subsequent demands for machine vision & planning.

That should drive for sufficient demand; nanoelectronics can make Moore go
coppertop for another half a century. Maybe with a little discontinuity
around 2012..2015, maybe not.
