Indeed, I don't think any such letter's perceived snake-oil quotient 
could be low enough.  At this stage it's much better done the old 
fashioned way, through face-to-face conversations over a beer at 
neuroscience conferences and so on.  And, of course, we have our 
little corner of the web, where people who are curious enough to seek 
us out can find us.  But to attempt to draw more attention than that 
would probably backfire at this stage.
