well, I've always thought those kind of arguments were never really taken
seriously but more of a thought experiment with the assumption that people
are "turned" off when they're sleeping. Given documented activity of the
brain during sleep and the large amount of dreaming most people have...I'm
pretty sure we all know we still exist while we're sleeping. :)
