A *postdoctoral*  (BAT IIa) or *doctoral* (BAT IIa/2)  position is 
available immediately for 2.5 years within the newly established 
research group on the *reliability of neural coding* at the 
*University** of **Muenster*, Germany. The research group will 
investigate the reliability of encoding of visual motion information in 
humans and flies. Our goal is to find out how noise at the various 
processing stages of the visual motion pathway constrains the 
performance of the entire system. The focus of the vacant position will 
be the *analysis of human eye movements* as indicator of the overall 
performance of visual motion computation as well as *concomitant* 
*computational modeling*. The candidate should have a degree in biology, 
psychology, physics, mathematics or computer sciences and a strong 
background in neuroscience. The research group, funded by the 
Volkswagen-Stiftung, is headed by Dr. Anne-Kathrin Warzecha and 
associated with the Psychological Institute II of Prof. Dr. M. Lappe in 
Muenster (Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet), Germany. For more
