The "Real World" is not slow or fast. It simply is.
And it is the only world in which the upload will
exist. I am familiar with the concept of the uploaded
mind existing in the virtual reality perhaps 32 times
faster than "the real world", but this sounds to me
like a cyber-psychotic condition. Our thoughts,
dreams, visions and other mental activities other than
actual perception can be refered to as neuro-virtual
reality. And yes we can dream up situations occuring
in our our minds 32 times faster than the "real world"
which is useful for planning and considering various
options. If however at some point we don't connect our
mental process to reality we are said to be psychotic
- loosing touch with reality. The mind is a reflection
of the real world and it is the only place in which it
can exist on long term basis.
We can compare a snail's mind and a human mind. Both
exist in the real world which is neither too fast for
the snail or too slow for the human. But the serious
difference in the processing speed between the snail
and the human is the reason for the mentioned social
concern. Snails and humans don't socialize much.
Similiar difference may exist between and upload and
and a flesh human which most probably will cause
social concerns and other various ramifications.
