Postdoctoral fellowship in Auditory Modeling
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Signal Processing and Computational Neuroscience group of Université de Sherbrooke, Canada invites applications from outstanding investigators for a post-doctoral fellowship to implement an auditory model for a monophonic sound source separation system in an innovative and multidisciplinary research environment.
The post-doctoral student will be a full member of the 'RN-Spikes for Auditory signal & image processing, Control and Robotics' research team inside our research group. He will be in charge of the auditory model (cochlear, cochlear nucleus and colliculus) development and real-time implementation. This model is used in conjunction with a spiking neural network to perform sound source segregation and separation.
CV and publication:
----------------------------
Applicants should provide a CV with relevant publications to 'Jean DOT Rouat AT ieee DOT org' before 29 November 2004. Decision will be taken on November 30. The fellowship is 37 000 CAD and might be renewed after one year.
Profile:
-------
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Signal Processing and experience in real-time implementation (if possible, also with knowledge in computational neuroscience).
Foreign postdoctoral fellows might be exempted from provincial income tax (http://www.meq.gouv.qc.ca/ens-sup/ens-univ/Exemption-impot/exemption_stag_f.asp) and should own the adequate visas when beginning the research in Sherbrooke.
