[MURG] Re: fixing defects (was off-topic posts) Joe's not Schizophrenic IMHO

I hope I'm not talking out of turn too much as I don't wish to hurt 
Joe's [Neurohacker] feelings but I have had some contact with him beyond 
just receiving MURG posts. I do not believe his condition is 
Schizophrenia. I hope he sees what I'm about to say as sticking up for 
him somewhat but I also don't wish to condone some of his behavior. I 
only wish to help rational minds understand some possible reasons for 
his behavior and perceived attitude.

Joe seems very blunt, curt, discourteous even rude in his most often 
short to the point messages. And to be certain he may lack some social 
graces for possible reasons that will become apparent and I sense a very 
stubbourn personality to be sure. Much of how he comes across in my 
opinion stems from what I perceive as a difficulty or intense dislike in 
typing, so he limits it to short low bandwidth, much less than Eugen 
even ;) little notes that often lack enough information to seem socially 
appropriate. I am reinforced with this thought because he has frequently 
urged me to get signed up with a text to speech service and a voice 
email service to speak-communicate with him. I haven't yet for financial 
and time constraint reasons and also because I type ok even though I 
have paralyzed hands and find text to speech or voice recording as 
tedious. I use two rubber tipped sticks to type and manage 30-40 wpm.

When he has sent me mp3 recordings of explanations for his ideas on 
Photonic Computing and how it might be used to model the brain and help 
his problem, I have noticed a speech problem. Again I hope this won't 
anger him, but I believe Joe suffers a brain injury or birth mishap, if 
his recent lawsuit idea is any clue, that damaged his brain in the 
speech department. His speech is halted, forced and aphasiac. One can 
sense he's trying very hard to do what msot takew for granted. He may 
have Cerebral Palsy.

Now if memory serves me Joe is not higher educated if even much of 
lower, which makes what he does even more remarkable. He's come to his 
conclusions purely from self education and obviously hours upon hours of 
internet study. There are obvious problems with this like no sounding 
board for bad science from lack of experience and knowledge but still he 
does pretty good considering. At least he's trying, there is 
intelligence there even if the end result is flawed and assumptions 
based on flawed information.

I studied Psychology in college while in Premed for the purpose of 
becoming a Phychiatrist but alas I had to leave for health reasons. For 
one class I worked with Schizophrenic patients and though I had in no 
way a comprehensive sample few of them could think as well as Joe does. 
However, I do know there are intelligent Schizophrenia sufferers, John 
Nash being one. I still base my opinion on Joe's speech problem. It 
doesn't of course rule out Schizophrenia but I wouldn't jump to that 
diagnosis just because he stubbornly holds to erroneous ideas that don't 
conform to reality. We could diagnose 90% of the world as Schizophrenic 
if we did that just for their unflagging belief in religious precepts 
and phantom entities.

I know that we can't tolerate outright beligerant behavior. But a little 
effort might be made to pursuade against it. I've had occasion to urge 
Joe away from doing something that offended me regarding politics. Joe 
will listen, he listened to me because I don't dismiss him. He just 
seems to me to get his back up then dig his heels in when he feels 
everyone is against him, how many of us don't? For him this might stem 
from a lifetime of being an outcast due to disability. People aren't yet 
evolved enough to really shed their mistrust and disgust of deformity. I 
know this personally but I don't sound impaired when I speak so I have 
it easier. I can even pass for non disabled on the internet or on the 
phone. Speech impairment is one of the most discriminated against.

Lastly, Joe, please pardon my butting in.
