[Murg] who's the author(s) of the wikipedia article?

Is finding out who wrote the entry so important? On Wikipedia all
users who think to know some area well enough are encouraged to write
new entries. If other users know better, they should just update and
improve the entry.
There was an article a few days ago saying that the big problem of
Wikipedia is lack of a strong vetting system. If it had a vetting
system, someone who is recognized as an expert would have to approve
the entry.
